Scientist in their new research have found saffron which is a kind of food colouring mostly used in the Indian and Spanish cooking, to be helpful to keep the vision sharp.
Professor Silvia Bisti of the University of Sydney, during her research found that the eye sight of the patients got improved after taking the saffron pills.
“When they were tested with traditional eye charts, a number of them could read one or two lines smaller than before, while others reported they could read newspapers and books again.” She added.
According to her, Saffron, which is used in traditional medicine for treating conditions including cancerous tumours and depression, also helps to make vision cells “tougher and more resilien” resulting an improved eyesight.

This information is very useful one. And at the same time the eye sight problems are facing mostly by the poor and lower middle-class people because of malnutrition.
The Saffron is a very costly food as for as Indian people are concerned.
This saffron is used mainly during the pregnency time, and a superstitious thing also hiden in this. Many pregnant ladies in villages as well as in the urban area consuming it along with a cup of milk, saying that their child will be born very fairly and lovely.
Anyway it is a welcoming news for million and million of people got eye sight problems.
